Here we are - post exhibition blues!! It happens to everyone, and it doesn't even reflect the success or failure of a show - it just leaves you feeling exhausted, and with a dozen questions hanging over your head!!! This Isn't my best time of year anyway- personally, so that's not helping. We must move on to bigger and brighter things - chin up Andy.

I must admit to being very excited (like a child) by this article. It's my 1st time in a glossy mag, I think the images look fab, and write up is great. I couldn't ask for more. Thanks Esther.

I recently had a call from the editor of Yorkshire Life magazine wanting to feature my work. I'm very pleased to say that it has happened, and the article will be in the June edition (just in time for the exhibition at Helen Bray). I haven't seen it as yet - so fingers crossed!

After weeks of dragging myself through the bad weather of West Yorkshire, it's become clear that my main focus for this body of work will come out the the area surrounding Holme Moss. There is something particularly earie and inspirational about this part of the moorland. I think it has a lot to do with the communication aspect ot the mast, and the solitary position it holds.  I can identify with this as a painter (which is quite a solitary existance), isolation is a theme that runs through my work, and as an artist I endevour to communicate to the viewer. Whatever the reason, I'm drawn to it, frustrated by it, and determined to achieve something beyond  paintings of the moors!!!!

Work has begun on new work which will hopefully lead to being the main body of work at this years exhibition at Helen Bray Studio, Holmfirth. I don't have a working title as yet, but i'm getting the feel for the need to go out to a specific location locally for this initial stage. It's been a while since i last went into the landscape in this way, maybe it's because of all this recent snow that's enticed me out again. Who knows the outcome - watch this space!!
